Riven Ratanavanh is a Thai-Chinese multi-disciplinary artist. His work focuses on Asian (trans)masculinities, queer politics, power, fetishes-and-fetishism, and trans imaginations.
Spanning performance, video, and photo, he has presented work at Bangkok Kunsthalle, Performance Space New York, the Poetry Project, Movement Research, and the Center for Performance Research. He was selected as a finalist for the CIRCA X DAZED Class of 2022. His films have been shown at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), TRANSlations the Seattle Trans Film Festival, and the London Short Film Festival. He has been featured in BUTT Magazine, the Asian American Arts Alliance Magazine, Dazed Magazine, CIRCA, and published writing in Document Journal.
Born in Bangkok, he lives and works between New York City and Bangkok.
